Dear Truxton Academy Community,

I am delighted to announce my role as the incoming principal at Truxton Academy

Charter School, and I am eager to extend a warm greeting to each of you!

​

My roots trace back to rural Minnesota, near the small town of Scandia, where I spent

my childhood exploring the woods and navigating dirt roads on my bike. My diverse

interests, ranging from travel and camping to football and wrestling, have shaped my

journey. Following my high school years, I pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in International

Relations at the University of Minnesota.

Continuing my educational pursuit, I earned a Master's Degree in Education in 1998, also from the University of Minnesota. Over the past 17 years, I have dedicated myself to teaching across various grades, from kindergarten to sixth grade. In my most recent role, I served as an assistant principal at a charter school in Austin, Texas.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I am married and have a beautiful family, with a son in fourth grade and a daughter in seventh grade. Our family, having recently relocated from Texas to central New York, has been relishing the four seasons, enjoying camping, hiking, and savoring the picturesque landscapes. We now call the Village of Camillus, just west of Syracuse, our home.

Joining Truxton Academy as your new principal fills me with enthusiasm and a genuine commitment to contributing to the success of the school. I am excited about the prospect of working with and serving the Truxton community. Your warm welcome has been truly appreciated, and I am looking forward to embarking on this exciting journey together.
