Update from our Head of School - June 17, 2022

Hello Families and Supporters,

Happy Friday! We had a great week this week with awesome field lessons and a wonderful Kindergarten Graduation ceremony. On Tuesday and Wednesday our students went to Tinker Falls for a short hike, a picnic, and creek exploration. The kids had a blast finding salamanders, toads, and crayfish. The water was so nice and refreshing that some kids basically went all the way in, while others just waded in the water. This field lesson was a hit and will become an annual tradition I am sure!

Thank you to Mrs. Francis, Ms. Elliott, and Ms. Bri for their wonderful words about our kindergarten students at the kindergarten graduation. There were other helpers behind the scenes too. Thanks to all those who made the ceremony possible and thanks to all the families who were there to celebrate and support their kindergarten graduates!

As we near the end of school, we are grateful for another wonderful year. For me, this year's end is bittersweet as I am moving on to other things, but will greatly miss our students every day. While my own children will still attend Truxton Academy and I will be here as a parent, it will not be the same and I will greatly miss these kiddos. On that note, The Head of School search committee is continuing the process in the search for the new Head of School. Three of the top candidates visited the school this week and were interviewed by our 4th grade class as a part of the hiring process. I didn't sit in on these interviews, but heard from those who did that the 4th graders did a great job in asking important questions, along with some more fun ones. Thanks to our oldest group of kids for helping with this process!
